Another Day in Paradise

Hello, all five or so people who actually read my blog!

Today was a hectic day at work, but that's because everyone is tired of the practice research topic: John Smith. It's getting very redundant, but luckily, next Monday we begin the REAL research unit, which means each student gets his/her own topic. I'm hopeful that they will be more interested then. They have been troopers about learning the research process through this practice unit, but how much can anyone take of one topic?

Track was fun, as always, and it warmed up nicely for us today. I didn't even need a jacket, and that was wonderful. We took some times on the 100m, the 200m, and the 400m, so now we'll be able to see which races different kiddos should run in. Tomorrow, we start training them for the field events, and I'm excited to see who all wants to long jump with me! :)

This evening, I talked on the phone with a principal of a school very close to where I live. After talking for about a half hour, she invited me in for a big interview next Friday. Is it a bad omen to have it on Friday the 13th? I think not! I'm excited and nervous, but the position is something I am extremely interested in. It's a small school where everyone knows everyone, and the students are at-risk kids. They are below grade level and repeating the 8th grade. The class sizes are small. There is a lot of PLC involvement. This is basically a dream job. I don't want to get ahead of myself because I know they are interviewing five others, but I am happy to have something to be excited about! Wish me luck...
